Kitesurf in New Zealand
We have travelled the world kiteboarding, and the best location we ever found to kitesurf is the Karikari Peninsula at the top of New Zealand. So we set up a kitesurfing school there, and escape the UK winter each year. Flat water locations for racing, tricks and learners and waves for playing. With beaches facing every wind direction and wind most days - Kari means wind, so the Karikari Peninsula is windy windy - it is a fantastic kitesurfing location.
The variety of conditions, locations and equipment we have in New Zealand, combined with the amount of kiteable days, gives the opportunity to gain a range of experiences in a period of weeks or months that might take years to achieve elsewhere.
Kite camps
Immerse yourself in kitesurfing and beach life. At kite camp we can take you forward from whatever level you have reached - whether you are an absolute beginner, already a kitesurfer wanting to improve your skills, try new disciplines, or nail a new trick. Or if you just want to get out there and play.
Kite camps with training
For beginner students, we will be in the water with you right by your side for your first sessions, and then as you become more independent and are up and riding, we will be there coaching you from the beach and in the water with hands on teaching as and when you need it.
We would be out on the water for at least three days a week, and if it’s windy more than that (which it usually is!!), we will be out every day we can. If there isn’t enough wind you can be busy surfing, SUPing, snorkelling, working out in our woodland gym or just chilling out on the beach. As well as other kitecamp students/kiters, you will be together with our instructor students, giving you the opportunity to learn in great depth about equipment, weather, tides, and all things important to becoming a good all round kitesurfer. There is always a great mix of people and you can choose to keep yourselves to yourselves, or join in camp life.
It’s great fun, and a great experience living off grid, staying in either a glamping tent, kiwi caravan or converted container, eating outside under the stars every night around our wood fired oven.
